McIntire Botanical Garden is pleased to announce that Frank Robinson, President Emeritus of Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden (LGBG), has agreed to serve as consultant to the Garden’s Board of Directors.
Robinson, who joined LGBG in 1992, oversaw the development of more than 50 acres of themed gardens in addition to a visitor center, education complex, classical conservatory, and other facilities. During his 23 year tenure, LGBG grew from a local garden attraction to one of the top five botanical gardens in North America.

Robinson offers the kind of practical knowledge and wisdom for what it takes to build a successful botanical garden from the perspective of someone who has been through the same process.
For a peek at some of the inspiring insight Robinson will be bringing to McIntire Botanical Garden, look no farther than his presentation, “Building a Botanical Garden,” from last year’s Ian Robertson Legacy Lectureship. This presentation describing the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of building a new botanical garden in a community is just a glimpse of what Robinson will be bringing to McIntire Botanical Garden. Everyone at McIntire Botanical Garden looks forward to Robinson’s participation in our exciting project.
